How to use sharps container?

In fact, it is relatively simple to use sharp container. Here is detailed guide to how to use it.
Generally speaking, the sharps containers distributed in the hospital are packed in whole boxes. According to the volume of the sharps containers, there are 20 to 60 sharps containers in a box. The sharps containers are placed in the packaging box with the barrel and the lid separated, the barrels are stacked together, and the lids are stacked together. This is to reduce the volume occupied by the sharps container during transportation and save shipping costs.

To use the sharps container, we take out a barrel body and a lid, and press the lid against the barrel body in turn from the edge, and a crisp snapping sound indicates that the lid is firmly closed. If it is a square sharps container, press the 4 sides in turn. If it is a round sharps container, press it 360 degrees along the circumference. Such a brand new sharps container can be used.

Keep the opening of the lid open by default status, and throw the used disposable medical waste sharps into the sharps container through the opening of the lid. The opening of the lid generally has a zigzag bayonet or baffle. The syringe needs to insert the needle into the zigzag opening of the opening first, separate the needle and drop it into the sharps container bucket, and then throw the syringe into the bucket. To increase the efficiency of using the limited volume of the sharps container, more used syringes can be held. Blood collection needles, blades, glass tubes, broken plastic pieces, etc. can be thrown directly into it.

Some sharps container lids are designed to be temporarily closed. Dailymag's full range of sharps container lids can be temporarily closed and opened again. The lid of the T4.6 model has an automatic return design. After the sharps are pushed into the barrel, the lid will return to the automatically closed position. If the sharps box is not full, keep the lid temporarily closed and continue to use it the next day.

Pay attention to the state of sharps filling in the sharps container. If the height has reached 70% of the bucket or crosses the warning line on the label, it indicates that the sharps container is almost full and needs to be closed and replaced with a new sharps box. Be careful not to exceed 80% of the height of the barrel.

Before replacing the new sharps container, please be sure to permanently close the lid of the sharps container. Some lids are rotated to a specific position to be permanently closed, some are pressed firmly to the position where the bayonet is permanently closed, and some are pushed to the locked position. Some are snap-fastened. After confirming that the lid is permanently closed (fiddle around with the lid to confirm that the lid cannot be opened again), place the used sharps box in the recycling bin or designated recycling location.

The sharps box label also has instructions for use with diagrams. As long as you follow the instructions carefully, you will soon be able to use the sharps box quickly and safely.
